Saint-Tropez has no train station and the roads are gridlocked from June to September. Here is every way to reach the port — by boat taxi, ferry, bus, or helicopter — with prices, times, and honest pros and cons.
Saint-Tropez receives 6 million visitors per year through roads designed for a fishing village. The D559 and D98 are completely saturated in summer. The La Foux roundabout at Gassin is a notorious bottleneck.
A 30-minute drive from Sainte-Maxime can take 1.5–2 hours in July and August. From Nice or Cannes, expect 2–3+ hours on the A8 motorway. There is no park-and-ride system, and parking in Saint-Tropez itself is extremely limited and expensive.
Four ways to reach Saint-Tropez without driving. Each has trade-offs — here is an honest comparison.
