Private water taxi in Calvi

Boarding is at the pontoons of Calvi Marina (Port Xavier Colonna), right below the Genoese citadel and along Quai Landry. It is a few minutes' walk from the old town and the seafront hotels, and your skipper confirms the exact pontoon the day before.

Girolata has no road at all, so the sea is the only quick way in. For Porto and Piana, the coast road climbs and winds for a couple of hours, while the crossing from Calvi past the Revellata is roughly an hour of open water.

Our partner boats are closed-cabin craft carrying up to about ten guests with luggage. Prices are per boat, not per person, and shown 'from' as an indication; the final quote depends on the route, the season and the pick-up time.

The gulf of Calvi is well sheltered and usually calm in the early morning, but the Revellata headland and the open run toward Scandola can build a swell when the libeccio or mistral picks up in the afternoon. Your skipper watches the forecast and may shift the departure earlier for comfort.

May to September is the prime window, with the busiest weeks in July and August. Calvi hosts a jazz festival in June and a polyphonic song festival in September, so booking ahead is strongly advised in high season.
