L'Escalet is a 150 m crescent of pebbles and sand at the foot of the Cap Taillat peninsula in Ramatuelle. With only 15 parking spots and no commercial facilities, it remains the most unspoiled cove accessible (barely) by road in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The underwater rocks host exceptional snorkeling — groupers, barracuda, and intact Posidonia.

L'Escalet's parking is 15 spots. In summer it fills by 8 AM. Arrive by sea and you have the turquoise water before anyone else wakes up.

From L'Escalet, the sentier littoral reaches Cap Taillat's sandbar in 20 minutes — one of the most surreal landscapes on the French coast.
