Most crossings use Government Dock in Dunmore Town, or land you directly at the private slips of Valentine's Resort & Marina or Romora Bay Resort & Marina if that's where you're staying — we confirm the point closest to your hotel before departure.

The public water taxi from Three Island Dock is a shared shuttle running roughly every 30 minutes for a few dollars a head — practical, but you queue and share the crossing. A private booking is scheduled to your time, closed-cabin, and can continue on to Nassau or the Exumas instead of stopping at the island.

Pricing is quoted from the distance and duration of your route and the number of passengers, up to about 10 guests in a closed cabin — a crossing landing at a marina such as Atlantis on Paradise Island also carries that marina's own dockage fee. You'll see a firm quote before booking, shown as an indicative 'from' price.

Shallow sandbars flank both sides of the channel between North Eleuthera and Harbour Island, and a stiff wind against an outgoing tide can raise short chop — captains time the crossing around this. Runs that continue into the more open water of Exuma Sound are handled at a gentler pace for comfort. The calmest, driest window runs mid-December through mid-April; June through November is Atlantic hurricane season, quieter but with more weather-dependent scheduling.
