Seaplane transfers in the Maldives run in daylight only and require check-in at the VIA lounge. A private speedboat runs anytime, handles more luggage, and delivers you to the resort jetty with the same overwater arrival experience — often faster for North Malé properties.
Sandbank picnics and snorkel spots
The Maldives' uninhabited sandbanks are reachable only by private boat. A half-day booking with a picnic setup, snorkel gear, and a snorkelling guide is the quintessential Maldivian experience, done on your schedule rather than a shared excursion's.
Resort hopping without the group shuttle
Resort speedboats run on their own schedules and stop only at affiliated properties. A private tender moves between any two resorts — useful for dinner excursions to a neighbouring island or a day trip to a public island like Maafushi.
