Qatar built Lusail from the sand up — 38 km² of lagoons, artificial islands and the crossed-scimitar Katara Towers rising over the marina. From the Lusail Marina Promenade, The Pearl is 15 minutes by water while the Lusail Expressway crawls. The Gulf is calm October to April; from May the heat passes 45°C, so transfers run at dawn and dusk.
Fixed prices for 1 to 12 guests. Included: captain, fuel, insurance, port fees.
Lusail is Qatar's planned future city, built from the sand 15 km north of Doha across 38 km² of lagoons and artificial islands, and it hosted the 2022 World Cup final at Lusail Stadium. Its waters are a calm, sheltered lagoon system — flat and ideal for transfers October to April. The crossed-scimitar Katara Towers (Raffles and Fairmont Doha) rise over Lusail Marina, with Place Vendôme mall and Qetaifan Island waterpark close by. The only road link, the Lusail Expressway, is dense at peak hours — the sea is the shortcut.
The Lusail Expressway is the only road artery between Lusail and central Doha, and at peak hours it gridlocks. A water taxi from the Lusail Marina Promenade reaches The Pearl-Qatar or West Bay in 15 minutes — flat lagoon water, no signals, no detour around the interchanges.
The crossed-scimitar Katara Towers, home to Raffles and Fairmont Doha, were built to be seen as a silhouette over the marina. From the road you arrive into a podium. From the sea you watch the whole futuristic Lusail skyline rise — Place Vendôme, the Marina Twin Towers, the boulevard — exactly as the masterplan intended.
Step off at the Place Vendôme marina for the mall's waterfront restaurants, or run 10 minutes north to Qetaifan Island and its waterpark. A sunset transfer along the Lusail Boulevard, past Katara Towers lit up, is how the city is meant to be seen after the heat of the day.
