    Water Taxi Boat/Destinations/Saint-Martin
    Caribbean · France / Netherlands

Saint-Martin. Two nations, one island, infinite sea.

French Marigot, Dutch Philipsburg, Maho Beach with planes landing overhead, Grand Case — the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean. Saint-Martin is the gateway to Saint-Barth (45 min) and Anguilla (20 min). The public ferry gets cancelled in swell. A water taxi does not.

    Why here

Dual-nation island, gateway to Saint-Barth, and the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean.

Saint-Martin / Sint Maarten is the smallest island in the world shared between two nations — France (north) and the Netherlands (south). Grand Case on the French side is known as the Gourmet Capital of the Caribbean. The island is the main gateway to Saint-Barth (no direct long-haul flights) and Anguilla (ferry often cancelled in swell).

    01

The Saint-Barth gateway — skip the cancelled ferry.

The public ferry from Marigot to Gustavia is cancelled whenever the swell exceeds 2 metres — which happens regularly in winter. A private water taxi has more flexibility on route and timing, and crosses in 45 minutes regardless. The only reliable way to keep your Saint-Barth dinner reservation.

    02

French side to Dutch side — by sea, not by traffic.

Marigot to Philipsburg by road takes 25-40 minutes through Simpson Bay traffic. By water taxi around the south coast: 25 minutes, open Caribbean views, no red lights. From Philipsburg, Anguilla is a 20-minute hop across the strait.

    03

Tintamarre — the deserted island 30 minutes away.

Tintamarre (Flat Island) is uninhabited, with white sand, nesting sea turtles and an abandoned airstrip. 30 minutes from Anse Marcel by water taxi. No ferry goes there. It is as close to a private island experience as the Caribbean offers without owning one.

    FAQ

    Useful to know.

For Saint-Barth: depart from Marigot (French side), Marina Port La Royale. For Anguilla: depart from Philipsburg (Dutch side), Great Bay Marina. For Tintamarre: Anse Marcel Marina (French side, north shore). We operate from all three.

Hurricane season runs June to November, with peak risk August-October. We operate year-round but with reduced schedules during tropical storm warnings. Full refund policy if a named storm forces cancellation. December to April is the prime season.

The public ferry from Marigot to Blowing Point (Anguilla) is a small catamaran that cancels in 1.5-metre swell — common in winter trade winds. A private water taxi handles the crossing in all but extreme conditions. The strait is only 8 km wide.

Yes. Depart Marigot 8:30 AM, arrive Gustavia 9:15 AM. Full day on Saint-Barth — beach (Gouverneur, Colombier), lunch (L'Isola, Bonito), shopping Gustavia. Return 5:30 PM, back in Marigot by 6:15 PM. Our most popular Caribbean route.

No. The border between Saint-Martin (France) and Sint Maarten (Netherlands) is open — no passport control, no customs. By road or by sea, you cross freely. However, Anguilla (British) and Saint-Barth (French collectivity) require passport/ID on arrival by boat.
