    The public ferry to Marigot means lining up at Blowing Point and clearing customs on both sides at fixed departure times. A private water taxi leaves when you're ready, straight from Road Bay or your hotel's beach.

    Land on the sand, not at the dock

    Meads Bay, Maundays Bay, and Barnes Bay front some of Anguilla's best addresses, but the island's harbours sit miles from these beaches. A closed-cabin boat can beach-land or tender you in right where you're staying.

    All private crossings depart from the Road Bay / Sandy Ground jetty, Anguilla's official port of entry for pleasure craft — Blowing Point is reserved for the scheduled public ferry and isn't used for private customs clearance. On request, and depending on sea conditions, our partner captains can also collect directly from the beach in front of hotels like Malliouhana or Cap Juluca.

    The scheduled ferry to Marigot itself only takes around 20-25 minutes, but factor in check-in, customs, and waiting for the next departure. A private crossing leaves on your schedule and skips the queue entirely.

    Rates depend on the route and number of passengers; expect prices from a few hundred euros for the short hop to Saint-Martin, rising for longer runs to St Barth or the BVI. Ask for a quote for your exact dates.

    December through April brings the driest weather and steady trade winds, ideal for comfortable crossings; the Anguilla Channel can get choppier with winter swell. August to October is hurricane season — quieter, but weather-dependent.

    Yes — many guests build in a lunch stop at Prickly Pear Cays or Scilly Cay before continuing on to Saint-Martin or St Barth; just flag it when booking.
