Anthéor is not a town — it's a stretch of coast defined by the Corniche d'Or road above and vertical red cliffs below. The famous Anthéor railway viaduct (built 1903, bombed in WWII, rebuilt) is a landmark. The coast here is the most dramatic section of the Estérel, with cliffs rising 100+ m directly from the sea.
Coves with no land access.
The Anthéor coast is a vertical wall of red rock. No road descends to sea level. The only way in is by boat — which means you'll have the cove entirely to yourself.
The most photogenic coast on the Riviera.
Red porphyry against deep blue. The Anthéor viaduct above, Cap Roux behind. This is where photographers come at golden hour — except you're at sea level, not up on the road.
Sea caves and cliff jumping.
Several sea-level caves and overhanging rocks for the adventurous. Captain knows the safe jumping spots (5-8 m). Snorkelling in the grottos is otherworldly.
