    Why here

    Golden island, red coast.

Le Dramont is defined by two landmarks: the Île d'Or (a 2-hectare private island with a Saracen tower, allegedly Hergé's inspiration for Tintin's 'The Black Island') and the Plage du Débarquement where American forces landed on August 15, 1944. Port du Poussaï is one of the smallest harbours in the Var — 30 berths, no commercial activity.

    01

Île d'Or — the island from Tintin.

This tiny golden-red island with its medieval tower is said to have inspired Hergé's 'The Black Island'. You can't land on it (private), but you can swim around it and see it from 20 metres. We anchor just off the island.

    02

    D-Day beach, quiet now.

Le Dramont is where the 36th US Division landed on August 15, 1944. Today it's one of the quietest beaches on the Estérel coast — a wide sand crescent backed by pines.

    03

Port du Poussaï — tiny and charming.

The smallest harbour in the Var: 30 boats, no restaurant, no shop. Just colourful pointu boats and the scent of pine. We pick up or drop off here.

    FAQ

    Useful to know.

No — it's private property. But we anchor 20 m off and you can swim around it, snorkel the rocks, and take photos from water level. The tower is stunning up close.

Yes — a wide crescent of coarse sand backed by pines. Shallow entry, good for families. Lifeguard in summer.

The island's silhouette and tower are remarkably similar to the island in Hergé's 'The Black Island'. It's never been officially confirmed, but the resemblance is striking.

Yes — our Estérel coast tour covers all three in 2-3 hours with swim stops. Le Dramont → Agay → Anthéor, or reverse. Popular half-day option.
