In practice, yes. The crossing itself is around 45 minutes, similar to a public fast boat, but you avoid the ticket line, the fixed timetable and the wait at Molo Beverello. The main season runs June to September, warmest and busiest in July and August. Ischia's northwest coast is more exposed to the maestrale, while the southern side around Sant'Angelo catches the scirocco, so on windier days the skipper may adjust the boarding point or timing for a smoother, drier crossing. In the low season, from late autumn to early spring, service is lighter and best arranged in advance.
