Marina Piccola, the historic fisherman port, is the ferry terminal and natural embarkation point for the entire Amalfi Coast. The Circumvesuviana train from Naples is the slow alternative — 70 minutes, standing room only in summer.

    Sorrento is built on a tuff plateau 50 metres above the waterline. The town's beaches — Marina Piccola, Marina Grande — are reached by lift, steps or tunnel. A water taxi from Capri or Positano lands you directly at the port, bypassing the cliff entirely.

    The Amalfi Coast without the SS163.

    The SS163 coast road is a single lane of hairpin turns above 300-metre drops. From Sorrento by water taxi, Positano is 25 minutes, Amalfi 40, and you see the coastline instead of clinging to it. Marina Piccola is the natural departure point.

    Sorrento's lemon terraces cascade down the cliff face to the water. The approach by boat reveals the yellow-green canopy, the Bellevue Syrene on the cliff edge, and the silhouette of Vesuvius across the bay. It is the view that made the Grand Tour.

    Yes. Marina Piccola is a full ferry terminal with hydrofoil services to Capri, Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Our private berth is adjacent — no queue, walk straight on.

    Both hotels are on the cliff top. Bellevue Syrene has a private lift to sea level — we coordinate pickup at the base. Excelsior Vittoria guests walk 5 minutes to Marina Piccola. We handle the logistics either way.

    The Circumvesuviana train from Naples to Sorrento takes 70 minutes and is standing-room-only in summer. Then you queue 30 minutes for the Capri ferry. A water taxi from Marina Piccola to Capri is 20 minutes, no queue, door-to-dock.

    July 26 is the Festa di Sant'Anna in Marina Grande — a procession of decorated boats, fireworks over the water. The harbour is closed to departures during the evening. We adjust schedules and offer front-row anchorage to watch from the water.

    Yes. Sorrento to Amalfi is 40 minutes by water taxi. From Amalfi port, a car takes you up to Ravello in 15 minutes. We wait in Amalfi or return on schedule — popular as a full-day circuit with Positano stop on the way back.
